Pursuant to the Law, funding, as well as material and technical support of diplomatic service shall be provided at the expense of the State Budget of Ukraine and other legitimate sources.
Appointment to the diplomatic service shall be effected on a competitive basis, except when appointment to the diplomatic offices is performed by the President of Ukraine in compliance with the Constitution of Ukraine. The Cabinet of Ministers shall set the procedure of announcing a vacancy for diplomatic service.
